Mailboxes on your domain
Real mailboxes at your own address, not forwarding into a personal Gmail. Webmail in the browser, and full IMAP for Apple Mail, Outlook or whatever is already on your phone.
Aliases that cost you nothing
hello@, billing@ and sales@ can all land in one mailbox. Aliases and shared mailboxes do not count against your allowance, so you are not charged per address.

Two-step verification per mailbox
Separate from your Hostney login, because a mailbox is how every other account you own gets recovered. Reset it from the panel if someone loses their phone.
App passwords
A separate password per device, shown once and revocable from the panel. Lose a phone and you cut off that one device without touching the others.
Authentication reporting
DMARC reporting shows who is sending mail as your domain and whether it passes authentication, including anyone pretending to be you.
Your mailboxes are shared across your domains
Most hosts count mailboxes per domain, which means buying an allowance again for every domain you own. Yours is per account: run all of them on one domain, or spread them across five. Aliases and shared mailboxes do not count at all.
Encrypted messages
Send something sensitive to anyone, and take it back
Normal email is a postcard. It is copied across servers on the way, it lands in a mailbox you do not control, and once it is gone you cannot recall it. Every mailbox here can send an encrypted message instead - and the person receiving it needs no Hostney account and no software.
They get an ordinary email with a link. They click it, we email them a six-digit code, and the message opens in their browser with its attachments. They can reply from the same page.
How we handle your data- The message never travels over email - only a link does, so there is nothing in transit to intercept.
- You can revoke it after sending. The link stops opening, even for someone who already has the email.
- It expires on its own - two weeks by default, and you can set longer.
- Only the addresses you listed can open it, re-checked every time the page is used rather than once at unlock.
- They reply from the same page, and a message sent to three people is three private conversations.
AI features
Optional help with the inbox, off until you ask
- Triage labels each new message as needs reply, follow-up, FYI or newsletter - by what it needs from you, not what it is about.
- Nothing is moved or deleted. The labels are standard IMAP keywords, so they show up in your other mail apps too.
- Summaries are on demand: open a long email, ask for the gist, and pick the language you want it in.
- Both are off until you switch them on, per mailbox, from the control panel.
Most tools sort mail by topic, which tells you what a message is about - something the subject line already did. Triage sorts by what it needs from you, which is the question you actually have when you open a full inbox on a Monday.
We tell you where your mail goes
Switching these on sends the content of the messages being labelled or summarised to Anthropic, our AI provider. You are told that in the panel before anything is enabled, it applies only to the mailbox you enable, and turning it off stops it immediately.
