Bug report

Found something broken?

Tell us what happened and we will look. Reports go straight to the people who maintain that part of the platform, not to a triage script - and you get an answer either way, including when it turns out to be intended.

What happens next

After you press send

No black hole. Here is the actual path a submission takes.

  1. It goes to the people who wrote it

Not a first-line script. The report lands with the team that maintains the part you are describing.

  2. We try to reproduce it

This is the step your report either survives or dies at, which is why the steps field matters more than the description.

  3. It gets fixed, or you get an answer

Critical breakage is same-day. Smaller things are queued and shipped with the next changes - and if it turns out to be intended behaviour, we tell you that rather than closing it quietly.

Writing a good one

What makes a report easy to fix

None of this is required and a short report is much better than none. But the difference between a bug fixed this week and one still being clarified next week is usually the second field.

  • Steps beat descriptions

One, two, three - what you clicked, in order, starting from where you were. A bug we can reproduce in a minute gets fixed in an afternoon; one we cannot reproduce gets an email asking for the steps.

  • Expected versus actual

Say what you thought would happen and what happened instead. It is the fastest way to separate a genuine bug from a design decision you disagree with - and the second one is worth telling us too.

  • Include the URL

The exact page in the panel, and the domain or account it concerned. Half of all reports lose a day to us asking which site.

  • When it happened

A rough time lets us find it in the logs. "This morning" is enough - we do not need the second.

  • A screenshot helps

Host it anywhere and paste the link. An error message transcribed by hand is often subtly different from the one on screen.

  • Tell us if it repeats

Every time, or once? Intermittent bugs are a different hunt from consistent ones, and knowing which saves us starting in the wrong place.

Submit a report

Tell us what broke

Only the first two fields and a description are required. Fill in what you can.

You will get an email when somebody has looked at it. If your site is down right now, open a support ticket from the panel instead - that route is faster.

Wrong form?

These might be what you meant

Phishing, malware, spam or copyright on something we host.

  • Request a feature

An idea that would make the platform better for you.
